JNVST Coaching Class 6 & Class 9 Mental Ability (MAT) OMR Mock Exams
Securing admission into a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is a dream for thousands of talented students across the country. Fully funded by the Government of India, JNVs offer world-class, CBSE-affiliated residential education. However, the JNV Selection Test (JNVST) is fiercely competitive, specifically targeting a student’s mental agility, mathematical foundation, and language comprehension.

At Vidyapeeth School of Education, our specialized JNV Coaching program equips students in Class 5 and Class 8 with the precise problem-solving frameworks required to clear the Class 6 and Class 9 entrance exams. We transform raw potential into exam-day confidence, ensuring your child is completely prepared for the OMR-based test.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Us for JNVST Preparation?

Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exams are uniquely structured—especially the heavy reliance on non-verbal reasoning in Class 6. We have engineered a coaching environment that specifically addresses the demands of the NVS (Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti):

🧠

Mastery over Mental Ability

For Class 6, 50% of the paper is based solely on Mental Ability (pattern completion, mirror imaging, figure series). We use highly visual, proprietary teaching tools to help students recognize these patterns instantly.

📝

Zero-Error OMR Training

The JNVST is an offline pen-and-paper exam. We conduct weekly mock tests on actual OMR sheets so young students learn how to manage their time and bubble their answers without making critical errors.

🗣️

Bilingual Instruction Model

We ensure that students from both English and Hindi mediums receive crystal-clear conceptual clarity, particularly in the Arithmetic and General Science sections.

🏡

Focused Rural & Urban Preparation

Understanding the 75% rural reservation mandate, our foundational batches are designed to bridge any existing academic gaps, building students up to top-tier competitive standards.

Our Method

Our Step-by-Step Success Methodology

Cracking the JNVST requires a systematic transition from basic school-level learning to competitive speed-solving.

1
Month 1

Diagnostic & Foundation Building

Students undergo an initial assessment. Teachers then break down core concepts in Mathematics and Language (Hindi/English) starting from the absolute basics to ensure no conceptual gaps exist.

2
Months 2-4

Syllabus Completion & Mental Ability Focus

We dive deep into the NVS syllabus. Special daily sessions are introduced for the Mental Ability Test (MAT), teaching students spatial visualization, odd-man-out reasoning, and embedded figure recognition.

3
Months 5-6

Speed Optimization & Short Tricks

Students learn specialized arithmetic shortcuts—crucial for finishing the Maths section quickly without sacrificing accuracy. We transition heavily into solving previous years’ question papers.

4
Final Month

Exam Simulation & OMR Mastery

The final 30 days are dedicated exclusively to full-length, timed mock exams in an offline setting. Teachers analyze every OMR sheet to eliminate bubbling mistakes and finalize time-management strategies.

Clear the Confusion

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Everything you need to know about our JNVST preparation and coaching approach.

A candidate seeking admission to Class 6 must be between 9 and 11 years of age. They must also be currently studying in Class 5 in a recognized school in the same district where they are applying for the JNV.
No. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in either the Class 6 or Class 9 entrance examinations. We heavily train our students on intelligent elimination techniques so they can attempt all questions confidently.
At least 75% of the seats in a district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas, while the remaining 25% are reserved for urban area candidates. Additionally, there is a one-third (33%) reservation for girl students, alongside standard SC/ST and Divyang (disabled) quotas.
Yes. For the Class 6 JNVST, the exam is conducted in multiple regional languages (depending on the state), as well as in English and Hindi. However, the Class 9 Lateral Entry test is conducted only in English and Hindi.
The Class 9 exam is a “Lateral Entry” test, meaning it only fills the vacant seats left by students who have left the school. Because the number of available seats is incredibly low, the competition is significantly higher, requiring near-perfect scores in Maths and Science to secure a spot.
