NEET UG Counselling Schedule 2026

Registration Process and Fees

The registration process takes place online via the MCC portal. Candidates should carefully follow the MCC video to complete registration within the prescribed guidelines.

Steps to Register:

• Enter your personal details and check your eligibility.
• Pay the registration fee and deposit the refundable security amount using a personal bank account or card.
• Save the payment receipt and registration confirmation after completing the transaction.
• After a successful registration, fill in and lock your preferred colleges and courses.
  

Fee Structure:

• AIQ, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and B.Sc. Nursing:

• General/EWS Registration Fee: ₹1,000.
• SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD Registration Fee: ₹500.
• Security Deposit: ₹10,000 for General/EWS and ₹5,000 for Reserved Categories.
• Deemed Universities:

• Registration Fee: ₹5,000.
• Refundable Security Deposit: ₹2,00,000 for all candidates.
  

Understanding Freeze vs. Float

After seat allotment, candidates must choose either the Freeze or Float option, a step where many students get confused.

• Freeze: This option means you accept the allotted seat and will report physically to the college for document verification and admission. If you select this, you must report to the college within the given time.
• Float: This means you accept the allotted seat but are waiting for a better seat in the next round of counselling. Document verification is done online at this stage.
  

Crucial MCC Counselling Rules

It is critical to understand the counselling rules before participating to avoid any issues in seat allocation.

• Round 1: Offers a free exit without losing your security deposit.
• Round 2 and 3: Resigning or not joining after a seat allotment in these rounds leads to the forfeiture of the refundable security deposit.
• Round 3 Finality: Candidates who join a seat in Round 3 cannot resign later, and they cannot participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.
• Duplicate Prevention: Before Round 3 begins, the details of joined candidates are shared between State Authorities and the MCC to prevent duplicate seat allotments.
